powers: an in-depth look;

Kalia's abilities could be considered a rather big variation off of knot magic, in which the number of knots tied into a certain color thread/piece of string dictate what it's used for. She works it similarly to how one would use "Cat's Cradle", utilizing one piece of thread that she's died multiple different colors so she can use it for multiple different things.

Currently, she is more well-versed in shielding and binding people with her thread, though she is working on actually harming people with it. She knows she is able to cut people with it; she has practiced, after all. Once she becomes a little more experienced with her thread, she'll be able to suspend it in the air while she attacks normally, but doing so will require much of her concentration.

history;

Kalia is the daughter of an American man and an Egyptian woman, growing up primarily in Cairo. She grew up with a very strong love for her parents and the United States and at a very early age often wished her parents would simply move there and let things be. However, it was not to be and Kalia was often shipped back and forth between their home in Cairo to her grandparents' apartment in the United States.

It is from her grandmother that Kalia first learned of the thread-based magic that she practices and uses to this day, a talent that has been passed down through the women on her father's side of the family for generations. Her father had no sisters and thus the basic knowledge of it was passed to her. At home, when she would practice, she found herself doing things with it that her grandmother had never instructed her in and she almost refused to continue.

Around the age of sixteen, her mother opened a handmade goods store, Desert Sun, and asked her daughter to help out. Kalia agreed and began working there almost immediately, helping her mother to make many of the clothes and accessories they sold. For Kalia's sixteenth birthday, the circle of friends she had at the time took her out to a a local fortuneteller, for a novelty experience. It was here that Kalia first learned of her destiny, the fortuneteller telling her that she would have to make a choice that would effect the fate of the world. She was so frightened by the experience that she didn't speak to anyone about it for days.

It wasn't until recently that Kalia learned the truth about what the fortuneteller had said, coming to the internet community and learning about the Seals and Angels...and her Gemini, Aisha, whom she became friends with only to learn that they would have to be enemies in the upcoming battle. Things between them recently have fallen apart due to the sides they both must be on, but Kalia has fully embraced the path of the Angels and she refuses to look back.

personality;

Kalia, from her frequent trips to the United States, has developed a rebellious streak a mile wide when it comes to most things her parents requested of her. Unfortunately for her, they always seemed to expect her to act a certain way, quiet and never speaking unless spoken to. Unfortunately for them, that went out the window once they got to the United States when she realized that the world wasn't exclusively for men.

Most people, upon meeting Kalia, see her as being a very happy and upbeat person, always with a smile on her face and willing to help others if necessary. Of course, those are also the people who don't know she's now fated to destroy humanity as we know it. Those few people who do know this have seen her get rather serious about these sorts of things.

Contrary to popular belief, she's very gung ho about destroying Cairo and helping the planet heal herself and she'll go about doing so however she possibly can. Mass destruction? She's all for it and she'll probably join in with a smile on her face.

I'm getting tired of
boring lies like love and justice
